Dear members of Baltic Society of Phlebology!
On behalf of the Baltic Society of Phlebology I have the honour to invite you to Riga for the 16th International Master Course of Phlebology, that will take place in Riga from 25 – 26 May, 2018.
The main objective of the Course in question is to review the most recent and progressive methods for the treatment of aesthetic vein diseases. The focus of the Course will be mainly placed on the laser therapy, both endovascular and transcutaneous, sclerotherapy and its various types, as well as mini- and micro- surgery, which enables treatment of veins without persistent scars. Additionally, throughout the Course a significant attention will be devoted for a thorough discussion of the possible combination of the aforementioned methods in order to achieve the best possible functional and aesthetic results with minimal risk of complications and further side effects.
The Baltic Society of Phlebology are delighted and honoured that the faculty of the 16th International Master Course of Phlebology will be composed of high-level professionals acknowledged all over the world, such as the Prof. Kasuo Miyake, MD (Brazil), Prof. Zoltan Boehm, MD (Germany) and Prof. Alexander Flor, MD (Austria).
We are delighted, that one of faculty members of the Course will be Prof. Miyake, who is the President of the International Meeting on Aesthetic Phlebology – IMAP and Director of Clinica Miyake. Throughout his professional career Prof. Miyake has devoted his research and practical work to the aesthetic phlebology, in addition, for the past 10 years he has worked on developing and implementing the CLaCS (cryo-laser and cryo-sclerotherapy) method that allows treating skin veins without compression therapy while at the same time reducing the side effect risk.
At the same time, we are delighted, that Prof. Boehm, a trainee of Prof. Varady, currently running and practicing at the Varady Clinic in Frankfurt has found the time to take a part at this particular Course. Throughout the years Prof. Boehm has been provided with an invaluable opportunity to work side-by-side to the prof. Varady thus learning from one of the pioneers in the field treatment of aesthetic vein diseases. Each of the Course participant will be provided with a unique opportunity to learn various tips and tricks of mini- surgery and micro- surgery of varicose veins from the Prof. Boehm himself.
In addition to the above mentioned professionals, it is a great pleasure that also Prof. Flor has agreed to take a significant part in the Course. Prof. Flor during therapy focuses on a precise diagnosis of venous diseases and combination of various innovative methods in order to gain best possible aesthetic result. Similarly to Prof. Boehm, Prof. Flor also is gained experience from Prof. Varady and within his practice he widely uses not only laser therapy, but also mini- and micro-surgery. In addition, throughout the last years he has focused on therapy of unwanted hand veins. During the Course each participant will have the chance to gain experience from Prof. Flor in the field of aesthetic phlebology, as well as treatment of hand veins by using foam sclerotherapy.
The aforementioned review of the background of the international board of faculty provides the participants with an opportunity to learn about the most successful and up-to-date techniques in the field of aesthetic therapy of vein diseases from the world’s leading physicians specialising in the care of the varicose veins with a focus on aesthetics. The two-day workshop will focus on the latest techniques: EVLA, Foam Sclerotherapy, Sclerotherapy of unwanted hand veins, Miniand Micro- phlebectomy and CLaCS, as well as provide “tips and tricks” for the successful treatment of vein diseases.
The emphasis will be put on the learning efficiency by forming smaller groups of participants to ensure more opportunities for questions and further discussions. On behalf of the Baltic Society of Phlebology I am looking forward to seeing you during the 16th International Master Course of Phlebology and welcoming you in Riga.
